What is the difference between a core aerator and a spike aerator?
A core aerator removes soil plugs, while a spike aerator only pokes holes. This lawn aerator tool reduces compaction more effectively and helps air, water, and nutrients reach roots for healthier grass.
Is this lawn aerator suitable for hard or compacted soil?
Yes. For best results, always water the lawn 12–24 hours before use. Using on dry, hard soil may require more effort and limit how deep the tines go.
Will the hollow tines get clogged during use?
The hollow tine aerator is designed to reduce clogging. In normal soil, plugs eject smoothly. In wet or sticky soil, occasional clearing may be needed.
Can the height be adjusted for different users?
Yes. This adjustable lawn aerator allows you to customize handle height for comfort. It helps reduce bending and back strain during use.
How durable is the stainless steel construction?
Made from stainless steel, this lawn plug aerator is rust-resistant and built for long-term use. The strong structure handles repeated pressure in tough soil.

I've tried a few other aerator tools before and they were hard to use and always got clogged. I spent more time pushing out the dirt plugs than working my yard. This tool with the slanted top slope ejects the dirt plugs out efficiently. Not once did it fail. The tool is strong enough to hold up to a lot of force. It has a good weight to it and fairly well made. I did have to tighten the shaft bolts a couple of times. It started twisting on me. I like the metal pieces, thick enough to hold up. The aeration tips are sharp and pierce the soil well. But only if the soil is wet, It will not work on dry compacted soil until thoroughly watered to at least 5". Using a manual aerator tool is a workout. I'm doing 10' sections at a time. I will continue using this aerator and will give my others away. This one by far works the best. There is no quick way to adjust height. It can be adjusted by removing the bold and repositioning it. Lastly, before stopping for the day, make sure to remove the last plugs from the tips. If you forget as I did, it will be hard to remove the dried up dirt. Save yourself the aggravation. Great tool for a smaller yard and if you have time. I'm doing a 2,500sqft yard so it will take some time, not a big issue. I'll aerator after I water the lawn. Sure saves money compared to renting a machine. Fair price for the quality and functionality of this aerator.
