I picked these up for yard work, and they’ve been solid for trimming thicker branches. The extendable handles (24–42”) make a big difference as you can reach higher or deeper areas without needing a ladder, and the adjustment locks in securely without slipping. The cutting power is impressive. The compound action helps, and it goes through thicker branches with less effort than expected. The blade feels sharp and handles green wood cleanly. They also feel sturdy and well built, not flimsy like some lighter loppers. The aluminum handles hold up well and don’t flex much when cutting. The grip is comfortable enough for longer use, and overall control feels good even when applying more force.I think that these are a great tool for heavier pruning that are strong, adjustable, and effective if you’re dealing with thicker branches around the yard.
Wonderful quality snippers. This thing is a definite upgrade over the previous snippers that I’ve been using for several years. These feel built like a tank. They cut like butter. The built-in extension feature is amazing and extremely simple. Just press the buttons and extend the handles. This is a tool that’s definitely worth having around the house if you’re a tree person like me.
This is easy to use and came with wrenches for an easy assembly. The extension handles are easy to adjust and stay very well locked in place. The tool seems to be durable and of good quality. The head is very sturdy and cuts a 2” branch with ease. It’s convenient to collapse the handles for a size easier to store These are a little heavy, but that is to be expected for the quality. The price seems fair for such a versatile tool.
These are definitely a lot better than using my old short-handled pruners. The blades are really sharp and I'm happy with that. You can stretch the handles all the way to 42 inches to reach those higher branches. That was the main reason for getting this cutter. I've noticed that when I have the handles fully extended to tackle something a bit thicker, the locking mechanism on the handles can be a little tricky. They tend to slip or twist if you’re putting a lot of strength into a cut. This is a solid tool for general maintenance, but you have to keep an eye on those locks if you're pushing their limits.
Bought this so I wouldn't have to bend over to cut off new sprouts on sago palms in my yard
These extendable loppers started out great for clearing out some overgrown branches around the yard. The steel blades are genuinely sharp right out of the box, and when you use them at their shortest 24-inch length, they provide excellent leverage and cut through moderately thick wood with very little effort. The rubberized grips are also reasonably comfortable and prevent your hands from slipping during a long afternoon of pruning. However, I have to drop my rating to 3 stars because the extendable feature—which is the main reason I bought them—is quite flawed. The locking mechanism that holds the handles at the extended lengths (up to 42 inches) simply isn't strong enough. When you are fully extended and trying to cut through a thicker, tougher branch, the handles tend to slip or twist inward, causing you to lose all your cutting power right in the middle of a squeeze. If you are only doing light pruning or sticking to softer wood, these will probably get the job done just fine. But if you truly need a "heavy-duty" cutter for thick branches at maximum reach, the unstable extension locks make the job much more frustrating than it needs to be.
Great extensibility from 24 to 42 inches provides excellent reach for overhead work. Fairly sharp SK5 steel blade handles fresh, green wood well. They're pretty easy to use and general comfortable when handling. I've mostly been trimming dead branches off fruit trees in my orchard where anything head height or slightly over is easy to deal with without needing a ladder. The compound action mechanism does provide decent leverage for cutting when the tool is working properly. However, it's overpriced for the quality and performance delivered. I haven't used this on very hard wood and I have my doubts about how it would perform on dense, mature hardwood branches despite the advertised 1.8" capacity. The aluminum handles feel adequate but not exceptional for the price point. The critical flaw is the extension mechanism: when extended, the locking mechanism tends to slip under pressure, which makes cutting more difficult. Mid-cut, the handles collapse or shift position, forcing you to constantly readjust your grip and re-extend the tool. This undermines the entire benefit of having telescoping handles in the first place. Works acceptably for light pruning at height on softer wood, but the slipping lock and higher price make it hard to recommend when more reliable options likely exist.
Cheap. Bent on first use.
