TIPS & TRICKS
– Use the Scoop Hand Tool for multiple purposes in the garden to increase your efficiency. Scoop out holes for planting as well as transfer soil, compost, and fertilizers from their containers directly to the desired locations.
– Instead of reaching for a knife or another blade, use the serrated tip on the scoop to open all types of bags from fertilizer to seed.
– For proper grip, hold the trowel firmly but comfortably, similar to how you would hold a hammer. This will reduce hand fatigue and give you better control.
– For digging holes or planting, use your wrist and forearm to drive the trowel into the soil, then lever it back to create a hole. For additional force, place the palm of your hand on the rounded end of the grip and push. Avoid using too much force to prevent strain on your body.
– Use the sturdy serrated tip on this scoop to cut through roots, and work efficiently with only one tool.

Perfect and does the job. Long term, I don’t know.
This is a great size scoop that is perfect for potting plants. The serrated edge helps open bags of soil and the size of the scoop is generous so I can get a good quantity of soil out at once. The grip fits my hand perfectly and it feels sturdy and is a substantial weight as I hold it. It cleans up easily and I can genuinely recommend this as a quality gardening tool.
I am so happy with this Garden Weasel Potting Scoop. It really is my go-to gardening tool this season. It's great for digging, and really excels at scooping potting soil out of a bag and into a container -- fewer scoops to fill and less mess because the sides are curved up more than a regular garden trowel. It is sturdy and well-sized, and the handle is comfortable to hold. I am so glad that I got this tool! It really is what was missing from my gardening tools.
Nice heavy, strong, large spade. Very comfortable in the hands, quality feels good, large enough to scoop for fair amounts of liter box removal. Feels solid while digging. Stable in the hands even with a full scoop.
This tool is light but built like a tank! The large scoop makes planting easy, it's almost works as good as my auger bit. The teeth at the edge of the scoop is great for opening bags of soil and mulch.
Wow! Finally found it. A combination trowel and scoop. After using it a number of times, I'm now convinced it's the perfect tool for planting and transplanting. It's very sturdy, heavy metal alloy, has a full tang handle with a cushioned ergonomically designed handle and is comfortable to use for long periods. The front edge serrated edge is handy for cutting through small roots without the need to switch to another tool.Won't rust or be damaged by moisture, or when inevitably, accidentally left out in the weather. Rinses off easily. The red handle makes it easier to spot when looking to gather your tools after a day of planting.Unlike most hand held gardening tools, the neck of this tool is large diameter, and not likely to bend or break. This truly seems designed and constructed to last a lifetime.
This is, without a doubt, the best garden scoop ever! I bought one for myself and I love how solid and sturdy it is. I can dig in all my soils and easily get into and under plants that I want to move. I love it so much that I bought one for my mom, my father-in-law, and my daughter. The grip is so comfortable and functional. I absolutely love itlove it!
I'm very pleased with all aspects of this planting scoop. The overall build quality is excellent -- this is a tool that will last for a very long time even when dealing with hard, rocky soil. The handle is well designed for both comfort as well as allowing me to maintain a good grip with or without gloves. The serrated point makes quick work of getting through roots and rocks. The overall scoop size is perfect -- not too small; not too large. One of the few garden tools I've come across where I would not change a single thing about it. An excellent value - five stars.
Excellent tool, but a little heavy if you have hands/wrists prone to aches. I was really happy to find this large scoop. Price is very reasonable for this tool and I love that it has teeth and the larger capacity as well as the longer handle and good grip. My only ding of the one star is because I have small hands and my wrists and hands get sore with extended use and or with extra exertion (weight, pressure etc). So it deserves 5 stars, imo, if that isn't an issue for you. I don't know if I'll be able to find a better large-volume, durable scoop that doesn't incur some of that. A strong plastic might, but I've yet to find one. I would still be glad to have this one in my arsenal for occasions where I need that stronger, toothed option even if I do find another lighter scoop. I had also bought an aluminum "ice scoop" but the handle was so small that it wasn't to my liking for prolonged scooping. Probably fine if you're just transferring a couple scoops of ice or flour or whatever, but for lots of scooping of soil into containers, I felt those were not good ergonomics at all. In contrast, this scoop has a full-sized handle and comfortable rubber grip, so I returned the aluminum. Been using this one on some wet cactus medium that with the high mineral content tends to be heavy and compacted, (vs potting soil), and it's been great for cutting into that soil. Enjoy!
